CONDITIONS. 1. The price of the Varnish must not exceed that of 16 kilos. I Russian pood weight of raw oil, by more than One Shilling. 2. The Varnish must be clear and transparent after setting. 3. The setting of the Varnish in a warm place must not take more than five days. 4. The drying of the Varnish on a smooth glass surface must not take longer than four to five hours. 5. The varnished surface must be smooth, lasting, and difficult to scrape off. 6. The Varnish must not contain more than 5 per cent of resin.
