18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning; let us solace ourselves with loves. 19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

the snare: so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them. Ec. 9. 12.-Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee. Ju. 16. 6.

Whoredom, and wine, and new wine, take away the heart. Ho. 4. 11.

I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshlylusts,which war against the soul. 1 Pe. 2. 11.

Mortify... your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Col. 3. 5.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace. 2 Ti. 2. 22.

There shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse ; and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and

understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge, and of the fear of the Lord. Is. 11. 1, 2.-In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col. 2. 3.

13 The fear of the LORD

is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

What doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk

humbly with thy God? Mic.

6. 8.

Thou lovest righteousness,

and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Ps. 45. 7.

14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counsellor hath taught him? With whom took he counsel,
