7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

I was eyes to the blind, and feet was Ï to the lame. I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out. Job 29. 15, 16.

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will

deliver him in time of trouble. Ps. 41. 1.-He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the Lord. Je. 22. 16.

8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

The people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. Jon. 3.
